Lefkada
Surrounded by 24 islands, including the famous Skorpios of Aristotle Onassis, Lefkada is connected to the mainland of Greece via a floating bridge (50 meters in length), making it easily accessible to visitors. The island boasts significant attractions, churches, monasteries, picturesque villages, lush vegetation, stunning bays with crystal-clear turquoise waters, organized and secluded beaches of breathtaking beauty, a rich cultural heritage, and hospitable locals.
As both the capital and the port, Lefkada City is characterized by a unique urban layout resembling a “fishbone” design. Beautiful alleys, small squares, traditional houses, intricate bell towers, and cobblestone pedestrian streets shape the city’s identity. Lefkada is surrounded by the strait and the lagoon, and further north, the thin, circular line of the sandy shore of Gyra with its few trees and windmills can be found.
