Surrounded by 24 islands, including the famous Skorpios of Aristotle Onassis, Lefkada is connected to the mainland of Greece via a floating bridge (50 meters in length), making it easily accessible to visitors. • Kouzoundeli Area: A charming place with ancient plane trees and traditional cafés serving freshly brewed coffee and homemade “souma” (a drink made from aromatic almonds).
• Archaeological Museum: The museum displays findings from the Middle Paleolithic period to the 4th century AD, including burial mounds from Nidri, ancient Lefkada cemeteries, and more.
• Public Central Library: Housing a large collection of printed materials and a rich collection of post-Byzantine icons, mostly of the Ionian style, including works by renowned Ionian painters like Doxaras, Roussos, etc.
• Haramogleio Special Lefkadian Library: This library contains rare books, engravings, and maps, and also hosts a contemporary art gallery where modern painting and photography exhibitions take place. The collection is included in the Guinness Book of World Records.
• Pantazis Kontomichis Folklore Museum: This museum features numerous rare and significant exhibits, along with a rich collection depicting daily life and the occupations of the island’s residents.
• Phonograph Museum & Old Memorabilia: Among other items, the museum displays old phonographs, records, antiques, old banknotes, and more.
• Olive Grove: Home to centuries-old olive trees.
• Large and Small Avlaimonas Wetlands: Two natural fish farms near the city.
• Windmills in Gyra: A scenic area with traditional windmills.
